“Something for the Kids” began in August of 2007 as a collection drive to assist children in foster care in Walworth County. It quickly expanded to include all families receiving services from the Walworth County Department of Human Services. Collection drives are held several times throughout the year with a seasonal focus – summer drives request school supplies, fall drives gather winter coats and other outerwear, and spring drives include spring and summer clothing. Periodically, an extra drive is held just to collect diapers and baby wipes. Additionally, “Christmas for the Kids” provides gifts and holiday meal boxes for entire families. When requested by the social workers at the Department of Human Services, we also attempt to locate specific items of furniture and appliances.
